The principal of Woodstock Group was contracted through an SAP Partner to fulfill the role of SAP Ariba Team Leader, providing senior, hands-on leadership for a fully remote, end-to-end SAP Ariba implementation for a leading U.S.-based outdoor retailer.
Operating as an extension of the client’s executive team, the Woodstock Group principal established global design principles, governance structures, and a disciplined delivery roadmap focused on SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing.
In a 100% remote delivery model, the principal ensured tight alignment across procurement, finance, ap, legal, IT, and merchandising stakeholders through structured cadence, clear decision rights, and outcome-driven virtual design workshops, enabling rapid consensus and preventing fragmentation across business units.
From a solution and integration standpoint, the Woodstock Group principal led the functional and integration design across SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing and SAP ERP ensuring requisition-to-pay processes operated seamlessly at retail scale. Particular emphasis was placed on supplier enablement via the SAP Business Network, supporting high transaction volumes across merchandise suppliers, services providers, and indirect spend categories.
Despite the complexity of seasonal demand, supplier diversity, and distributed operations typical of a national outdoor retailer, the principal maintained strong design discipline and integration integrity, delivering standardized, compliant processes while accommodating critical commercial and operational requirements.
Following go-live, the Woodstock Group principal coordinated closely with the SAP partner providing Managed Services to ensure a stable transition from implementation to steady-state operations. Post–go-live support included hypercare governance, issue triage, release management, and ongoing supplier enablement, allowing procurement, finance, and legal teams to rapidly achieve operational confidence.
By integrating managed services into the overall delivery model, Woodstock Group helped ensure sustained user adoption, continuous optimization, and long-term value realization from SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing, positioning the retailer for scalable growth and operational resilience well beyond initial deployment.
